Objective: To investigate the relationship between the expression of tissue CD109 in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and the severity of the disease, local inflammation. Methods: 56 RA patients who underwent synovectomy or joint replacement surgery in our hospital from February 2019 to January 2020 were selected as the research group. In addition, 30 patients with knee osteoarthritis (KOA) who underwent total joint replacement were selected as the control group.The expressions of CD109 in synovial tissues were detected by immunohistochemistry staining method, and Cytometric Bead Array was used to detect the levels of interleukin (IL)-6, IL-8, IL-10, IL-1β, IL-17A, matrix metalloproteinase 3 (MMP-3), tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) and transforming growth factor-beta 1 (TGF-β1) in synovial fluid. Results: The positive expression rate(78.57%) of CD109 in synovial tissues of RA patients was higher than that(43.33%) in the control group, and the expression of CD109 in synovial tissues increased with the increase of disease activity in RA patients (P<0.05). By multiple linear regression analysis, the expression of CD109 in synovial tissues was an independent clinical factor for the disease activity in RA patients (P<0.05). By Spearman correlation analysis, the expression of CD109 in synovial tissues was positively related with IL-6, IL-8, IL-1β, IL-17A, MMP-3, TNF-α in synovial fluid, and negatively related with TGF-β1 level in synovial fluid (P<0.05). Conclusion: The positive expression of CD109 in synovial tissues would be closely related to disease activity and local joint inflammation in RA patients. |
