Objective:To explore abnormal changes and clinical value of high frequency ultrasonography(hf) in patients with diabetes mellitus(T2DM) and peripheral neuropathy(DPN). Method:Sixty four cases of T2DM were divided into:group A(T2DM with DPN group); Group B(T2DM without DPN group), 32 in each group. Another 32 healthy controls were selected for group C. In the three groups, the internal chorus and the structure of the nerve and the implicit nerve were observed, and the long diameter(D1), wide diameter(D2) and cross-sectional area(CSA) of the three groups of nerves were measured and compared. Results:The width, thickness and cross-sectional area of left and right femoral nerve and saphenous nerve in the healthy control group were positively correlated with height and weight(P<0.05). Compared with group A and group C, the width, thickness and cross-sectional area of saphenous nerve in group B and C increased significantly (P<0.05), and the width, thickness and cross-sectional area of group C were significantly larger than those of group B. The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). The results showed that the width, thickness and cross-sectional area of T2DM patients decreased significantly, while the width, thickness diameter and cross-sectional area of T2DM combined with DPN group were the smallest, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). Conclusion:High frequency ultrasound can display abnormal changes of type 2 diabetes mellitus and combined with femoral nerve and saphenous nerve abnormalities, which has important clinical application value.
