Objective:To analyze global and regional values as well as gender differences of left ventricular mechanical parameters in healthy adults. Methods:One hundred healthy volunteers(50 males/females)undergoing 1.5 T cardiac magnetic resonance in University Hospital of Ulm from October 2015 to August 2016 were selected continuously. After image acquisition with steady-state free precession sequence and delineation of endo-and epicardium semiautomatically, global and regional(basal, middle, apical)peak values of strain, strain rate, displacement, velocity, torsion and torsion rate were measured by tissue tracking technique in radial, circumferential and longitudinal directions respectively. Gender differences of these parameters were tested by t-test or non-parametric test. Results:The absolute values of global and regional peak strain and strain rate, mid-ventricular peak longitudinal displacement and absolute value of global and mid-ventricular peak longitudinal velocity in females were higher than those in males. No gender differences existed in torsion and torsion rate. Conclusion:Absolute values of several global and regional mechanical parameters are higher in females than those in males. |
