Objective To investigate the adhesive mechanism of airway inflammation in the pathogenesis of asthma. Methods 10 asthmatic subjects during an asthma attack and 10 health nonatopic control subjects were selected to study byimmunohistochemical staining and RT?PCR,respectively. Results A significant increase was seen in the ICAM?1 mRNA and ICAM?1 expression on the PBMC of asthmatic subjects compared to the controls( P <0.05).There was a linear relationship between the expression of ICAM?1 mRNA and ICAM?1 on the PBMC of asthmatic subjects( r =0.81, P <0.01).Conclusion ICAM?1 are involved in the inflammative adhesive mechanism of asthma. |
