Objective To investigate the level of soluable serum vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in patients with gastric cancer by quantitative enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA),and to evaluate its clinical significance.Method 32 patients with gastric cancer and 20 normal controls were selected to detect the soluable serum VEGF by quantitative ELISA.Results The soluable serum VEGF in patients with gastric cancer was significant higher than that of normal controls, the VEGF levels in patients with undifferentiated gastric cancer and focal lymph node and distant metastasis were significant higher than those of patients with well differentiated gastric cancer and without focal lymph node and distance metastasis. Conclusion Soluable serum VEGF concentration is a significant predictive factor in gastric cancer invasion and metastasis. |
