Objective To observe the alterations of heart rate variability(HRV) in elderly type 2 diabetic patients with carotid vascular disease. Methods 104 elderly type 2 diabetic patients,52 with carotid vascular disease,52 with non-carotid vascular disease, and a controlled group of 48 healthy elderly persons were monitored by continuous 24-hour dynamic cardiography. The indicators of HRV time domain were analyzed with SDNN,SDANNindex,SDNNindex and RMSSD.Results The SDNN,SDANNindex,SDNNindex and RMSSD in the group of diabetic patients were all lower than those in healthy group with significant difference. In type 2 diabetic patients with carotid vascular disease, the abnormal incidence was about 50%.Conclusions HRV is a marker for diagnosing the early stage autonomic neural dysfunction for elderly type 2 diabetic patients, which is closely correlated with carotid vascular disease. |
