Objective To introduce the method of periareolar Benelli mastopexy.Methods Preoperative marking is performed in Benelli’s method.After the subcutaneous dissection,the breast gland was incised to form an inverted T incision three flaps:a superior dermoglandular flap supporting the areola,a glandular medial flap,a glandular lateral flap.After the appropriate resection of the glandular flaps was completed,the gland was lifted by a stitch in the glandular tissue of the superior flap and fixed to the pectoralis fascia.Next,the medial and lateral flaps are folded over one to another and sutured,the gland was reconstructed.Then the skin is redraped over the breast and sutured in purse string pattern.Results Twenty-six patients were treated with Benelli mastopexy including 12 cases with mild or moderate breast hypertrophy.There was no necrosis of the nipple-areolar complex.The beasts were in good shape and contour,periareolar scar was inconspicuous,and nipple sensation was well preserved during 1 to 12 months follow-up period.Conclusion Benelli’s technique,manipulable and easy,is an optimal choice for breast ptosis accompanied by mild or moderate breast hypertrophy.
