Objective To observe the effect on the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma by hepatic transcatheter arterial chemoembolization(TACE) combining with percutaneous ethanol injection(PEI).Methods Fifty patients with hepatocellular carcinoma, were randomly divided into two groups.Treatment group included 24 patients, who were treated with TACE+PEI,while control group included 26 patients, who were treated with TACE alone. Results The survival rates of six months, twelve months, eighteen months were 83.33%,54.16% and 33.33%,respectively in the treatment group, and the longest survival time was more than thirty months. In the control group only five patients existed above twelve months, with the survival rate of 19.23%.Significant differences were found between two groups(P<0.01).Conclusion PEI combining with TACE can enhance the curative effect on hepatocellular carcinoma, which is a kind of valuable remedy for hepatocellular carcinoma to increase the long-term survival rate. |
