Objective: To investigate the correlation between Chitinase 3-like 1 gene-329 G/A polymorphism and coronary artery disease in Chinese Han population. Methods: One hundred and eight-nine patients with documented co-ronary artery disease (at least one coronary stenosis ≥50%) and 230 non-coronary artery disease normal controls were enrolled. Ligase detection reaction was used to determine the genotypes and alleles of rs10399931. Patients with coronary artery disease were divided into premature coronary artery disease (male<55 years old and female<65 years old) and non-premature coronary artery disease. According to the number of diseased vessels,the patients with coronary artery dis-ease were also divided in one-,two-and three-vessel diseased subgroups. Results: There were three genotypes,CC,CT,and TT,at rs10399931 in patients with coronary artery disease and controls. Genotype frequencies of CC,CT,and TT were 39.7%,46.0%,16.3% respectively in patients with coronary artery disease and 43.0%,43.9%,13.0% respectively in controls. C,T alleles frequencies were 62.7%,37.3% in patients with coronary artery disease respectively and 65.0%,35.0% in controls respectively.No significant differences were found in genotypes or allelic frequencies between patients with coronary disease and controls (all P>0.05). Patients with premature coronary artery disease had similar frequen-cies of the genotypes CC,CT,and TT,allelic frequencies of C and T compared to patients in non-premature coronary artery disease group or controls (all P>0.05).Further analysis did not reveal an association between three genotypes of rs10399931 and the number of diseased coronary arteries (P>0.05). Conclusion: Our results do not demonstrate an association between Chitinase 3-like 1 gene-329 G/A polymorphism and risk of coronary artery disease in a Chinese Han population. |
