Objective To investigate the relationship between urinary bladder pressure,superior vena caval pressure,inferior vena cava pressure and intra abdominal pressure (IAP).Methods Eight male healthy mongrel dogs were enrolled in the study.Catheters connected with pressure transducers were placed into the urinary bladder,the superior vena cava,the inferior caval vein and intraperitoneal cavity,respectively.After a stabilizing period,the abdominal pressure was increased by gradually instilling of normal saline solution into the abdomen,urinary bladder pressure,superior vena caval pressure,inferior vena cava pressure,HR and MAP were monitored at each pressure level.Results The baseline of IAP was (10±1) mmHg.Compared with baseline,MAP increased significantly with the increase of the IAP (P<0.05).While the IAP was increased to 15,20,30,40 mmHg,urinary bladder pressure,superior vena caval pressure and inferior vena cava pressure were increased significantly (P<0.05).Under the different IAP levels,urinary bladder pressure,superior vena caval pressure,inferior vena cava pressure were closely related to IAP.There were significant correlations between IAP and urinary bladder pressure,superior vena caval pressure,inferior vena cava pressure (r=0.95,P<0.05;r=0.92,P<0.05;r=0.94,P<0.05).Conclusion In our dog model,the changes of urinary bladder pressure,superior vena caval pressure,and inferior vena cava pressure can reflect the change of IAP. |
