OBJECTIVE To investigate the effects of anti-NGF on the airway inflammation of rat models with allergic rhinitis.METHODS 40 SD rats were randomly divided into 2 groups:the control group A and the experimental group.First of all, those rats in experimental group were sensitized by using ovalbumin(OVA) intraperitoneal immunization and nasal antigen challenge.control group was treated as a negative control group sensitized and challenged by normal saline instead of OVA,then, the experimental group was randomly divided into 3 groups:AR group was challenged by OVA,anti-NGF group was challenged by OVA,followed by the administration of anti-NGF antibody,BUDESONIDE group was challenged by OVA,followed by the administration of BUDESONIDE.After the last OVA challenge, the level of IL-4 in nasal lavage fluid(NLF) were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).RESULTS The symptoms of 8 AR group satisfied the diagnosis of AR,no obvious symptoms appeared in anti-NGF group or BUDESONIDE group;Pathological analyses showed significant eosinophil infiltration in the nasal mucosa of AR group compared with anti-NGF group.Compared with AR group, the concentrations of IL-4 in NLF and serum of anti-NGF group decreased significantly(P<0.05).CONCULUSION anti-NGF administered intranasally is effective in treating AR |
