Objective To evaluate the effects of preoperati ve pulmonary function on perioperative management of scoliosis patients. Me t hods A total of 100 patients undergoing orthopaedic operation were stud ied.By detecting their preoperative pulmonary function, the influence of the preo perative pulmonary function on some relative factors were analyzed in perioperat ive management. Results The Cobb angle of scoliosis affected p atients’ pulmonary function; On the other hand, patients’ preoperative pulmonary function had marked influence on perioperative airway management, time of extuba t ion and duration in ICU; Patients’ preoperative pulmonary function had no close re lationship with the duration of surgery and estimated blood loss. Conclu sion Apt preoperative pulmonary function evaluation is in favor of g uidance to perioperative management and make it easier for patients with pulmon ary dysfunction to get through the perioperative period.
