Objective:To examine the expression of Galectin-3 and E-cadherin in the thyroid papillary carcinoma so as to screen the auxiliary diagnostic index and to predict the possibility of the transferring into lymph node and invasion of envelope. Methods:Immunohistochemical SP method was used to examine the expression of Galectin-3 and E-cadherin in 10 goiter with papillary hyperplasia、10 thyroid adenoma、5 normal thyroid tissue and 236 thyroid papillary carcinoma in which 190 had lymph node transferring and 46 had not, 159 had invasion of envelope and 77 had not. Results: 1. The expression of Galectin-3 in the thyroid papillary carcinoma with lymph node transferring is the highest 99.47% , low in the thyroid papillary carcinoma without lymph node transferring 56.52% and the lowest in the thyroid papillary hyperplasia 30.0% . The difference was significant (P<0.05) ;The expression of E-Cadherin is the highest in the thyroid papillary hyperplasia 80.0% , low in the thyroid papillary carcinoma without lymph node transferring 8.7 % and the lowest in the thyroid papillary carcinoma with lymph node transferring 20.53% . The difference is significant (P<0.05) 2. The expression of Galectin-3 in the thyroid papillary carcinoma with invasion of envelope is the highest 95.90% , low in the thyroid papillary carcinoma without invasion of envelope 95.61% and the lowest in the thyroid papillary hyperplasia 30.0% . The difference was significant (P>0.05) ;The expression of E-Cadherin is the highest in the thyroid papillary hyperplasia 80.0% , low in the thyroid papillary carcinoma without invasion of envelope 9.65% and the lowest in the thyroid papillary carcinoma with invasion of envelope 23.77%. The difference is significant (P<0.05). 3. According to the statistics, there is no significant difference between the expression of the two kinds of proteins. Conclusion :1. In the tissues of papillary carcinoma of thyroids, the expression ratio of Galectin-3 increased while that of E-ca |
